Bulgaria plans to open a "green corridor" for Russian tourists
According Russia Travel Digest Bulgarian authorities are ready to restore foreign tourist flow and conclude bilateral agreements to create "green tourist corridors" with a number of key countries for Bulgarian tourism. The plan includes Russia, Israel, Greece, Poland, Turkey, Ukraine, Moldova, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany and Great Britain. This was reported on February 25 by the press service of the Ministry of Tourism of Bulgaria.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism of the country, Mariyana Nikolova, the situation in tourism has improved significantly in recent weeks. So, from December 1 to mid-February more than 550 thousand tourists stayed at hotels in Bulgaria. Most of them are citizens of the country (480 thousand), another 70 thousand are guests from Romania, Turkey, Ukraine, Germany and Serbia. “Our airports on the Black Sea and Sofia airport are ready to host tourists and have taken a number of measures to combat COVID-19,” she said at a meeting of the Tourism Advisory Council.
