Protected Areas in Bulgaria and Tourism
This is the title of the latest book by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vanya Vasileva, a lecturer at Shumen University "Episkop Konstantin Preslavski." The book addresses a pressing issue of our time - the impact of humans on the environment. Assoc. Prof. Vasileva proposes one approach to addressing this problem - the creation of protected areas. In addition to their conservation functions, these areas also play an important role in tourism, offering opportunities to experience natural and preserved environments.
The book is structured into two parts. The first part explains the essence and significance of protected areas, their legal regulation and management, as well as international cooperation in this field. A special emphasis is placed on biodiversity conservation. An overview of the network of protected areas in the country is also provided. The second part is a detailed review of the types of protected areas in Bulgaria, presenting all national and natural parks in the country.
